Vivian A. Charneco, M.D.
Founder & CEO, Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist
Dr. Vivian Charneco is the founder and Medical Director of Mindful Behavioral Healthcare. Dr. Charneco has over 25 years of experience in treating mental health and behavioral conditions. Her initial training in the medical field was in Puerto Rico, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed medical school at the Ponce School of Medicine. Later on, she attended the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where she received her psychiatric training and completed a fellowship in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry. She also received training in Psychoanalysis at the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Institute.
Dr. Charneco held different professional roles throughout her career at several setting, both clinical and administrative in nature, where she applied and improved her knowledge in adult, adolescent, and adult psychiatry.
After years of practice in traditional psychiatry, she realized that it was necessary to incorporate a holistic approach in order to integrate mind, body, and spirit. During this quest, she had the opportunity to be trained in Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis techniques by renowned psychiatrist Dr. Brian Weiss, author of the book “Many Lives, Many Masters.”
Dr. Charneco is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Florida Psychiatric Society, and PanAmerican Medical Association.
Gustavo V. Ruiz, M.D.
Dr. Gustavo Ruiz is an innovative bilingual (English-Spanish) psychiatrist with more than 15 years of proven clinical experience evaluating and treating patients with psychiatric and psychological disorders. He has expertise working in mental health institutes, public and private hospitals, primary care centers, and clinics.
Dr. Ruiz studied Medicine at the Puerto Rico Institute of Psychiatry, where he completed his residency in psychiatry. He has in-depth knowledge in treating and managing different age groups such as children, adults, and geriatric patients.

Luis J. Olivera-Rodriguez, M.D.
El Dr. Luis Olivera-Rodríguez es un Psiquiatra General Certificado por el ABPN (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) con más de 5 años de experiencia en el tratamiento de condiciones psiquiátricas y de salud mental. Completó su Bachillerato en Ciencias y Maestría en Salud Pública en la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recintos de Río Piedras y Ciencias Médicas respectivamente. Completó su Doctorado en Medicina en la Escuela de Medicina de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Ciencias Médicas, y realizó su residencia en Psiquiatría General en la misma institución. Es miembro activo de la Asociación Americana de Psiquiatría (APA) y su capítulo Sociedad Psiquiátrica de Florida. Dr. Olivera es uno de los pocos psiquiatras entrenados en la Terapia Magnética Transcranial (TMS), una modalidad de tratamiento innovadora utilizada exitosamente para el tratamiento de pacientes que sufren de Depresión Mayor.
Dr. Olivera es completamente bilingüe en español e inglés, y tiene vasta experiencia atendiendo diversas poblaciones de diferentes orígenes culturales, con particular interés en la población geriátrica y LGBT. Ruben Ocasio-Ferrer, M.D.
El Dr. Ocasio es graduado de la Escuela de Medicina de la Universidad Central Del Caribe en Puerto Rico. Hizo su especialidad en Psiquiatría en el Instituto Nacional de Salud Mental (NIMH) en Bethesda, Maryland. En sus más de 30 años ejerciendo la Psiquiatría ha sido Director de Centros de Salud Mental de la Comunidad y de programas de tratamiento para Trastornos de la Alimentación. También ha estado involucrado en numerosos estudios clínicos del sistema nervioso central. Mientras trabajó en Cleveland, Ohio, fue reconocido por el Departamento de Salud Mental del estado por sus esfuerzos en mejorar la calidad de vida de personas que sufrían de trastornos mentales severos.
En la última década, ademas de tratar pacientes en la práctica privada, se ha dedicado a trabajar como el Psiquiatra del Florida Assertive Community Treatment Program del condado de Osceola, ha sido Psiquiatra consultor de numerosos centros especializados de enfermería para convalecientes (SNF) en la Florida central, y ha sido Investigador Principal de estudios clínicos. El Dr. Ocasio es bilingüe en el idioma inglés y el español. Además de usar medicinas psicotrópicas, él usa productos naturales cuando están indicados clínicamente. También él integra las creencias personales y el trasfondo cultural de sus pacientes al desarrollar el plan de tratamiento.
Deborah Rivera, Ph.D., L.M.H.C.

Dr. Deborah Rivera is a bilingual (English-Spanish) psychotherapist who has over 20 years experience providing therapeutic services in outpatient, inpatient, residential settings and correctional facilities. She has a doctoral degree in General Psychology and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
Dr. Rivera believes in the human potential to deal and overcome psychological conditions. She has worked with most areas of mental health, and has seen that building trust- a strong rapport, providing support, and teaching the necessary strategies to patients, help them reduce clinical symptoms, maintain emotional stability, function better in general, and achieve their goals in life.
Dr.Rivera’s dissertations at the doctoral and master levels were about “schizophrenic thought” and “alcoholism”; respectively. Dr. Rivera has vast experience with patients diagnosed with Major Psychiatric Disorders (Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorders, Major Depressive Disorders), alcoholism, and drug abuse-dependence. She also has extensive clinical experience with children, adolescents and adults diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Her eclectic approach to psychotherapy includes: psycho education, Insight oriented, supportive, cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as behavioral strategies according to the needs of the treated population.
Kristine Cuellar, L.M.H.C.

Kristine Cuellar is a progressive therapist that works from a strength-based psychodynamic approach with over 15 years in therapeutic-based services and six years of psychotherapy. She received her B.A. in psychology from Rollins College and went on to complete her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from University of Central Florida. She is currently licensed with the state of Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
During her career, she has worked with young children to older adults and specifically enjoys the therapeutic relationship in a one-on-one setting, “there is just something about being there to witness the ‘AHA’ when the person sitting in front of you makes a connection that will change their lives.” Ms. Cuellar treats a wide variety of mood and anxiety disorders and assists people in dealing with trauma, grief, LGBTQIA issues, poor self-esteem, interpersonal issues, food issues, substance abuse, and self-harming behaviors.

Rosa Beltré, C.S.W.

Rosa Beltre is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience providing mental health services in residential, outpatient, inpatient and crisis unit services to adults and children in New York and Florida. She has a bachelor’s degree from Queens College in Psychology and Women Studies as well as a Master’s degree from Hunter College School of Social Work with a Concentration in Case and Group Work. Ms. Beltre is also an Acupuncture Detox Specialist with extensive experience in the area of addiction and a registered hypnotherapist. She has provided social services and missionary work in Latin America, West Africa and Ghana.
Ms. Beltre uses an eclectic approach to treat her patients by providing insight oriented, cognitive behavioral and psycho-dynamic therapy. She is also passionate about working with patients suffering from severe and persistent conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, by treating each case as a unique one as a way of helping each individual accomplish their maximum potential during their therapeutic process.
Jerry Summerfield, M.ED, LMHC

Jerry Summerfield, M.ED, LMHC has been providing mental health and substance abuse counseling services since 2010. Jerry graduated with his Masters in Education in 2012, with an emphasis in Counseling and Human Services- Mental Health Counseling. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor by the State of Florida, a National Certified Counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors and is also a Certified Case Manager from the Commission for Case Manager Certification.
Jerry is passionate about helping individuals who need to make changes to deal with life on life’s terms. During his counseling career he has worked with homeless veterans, children and families, foster families, adolescents in the juvenile probation system, and men and women with substance abuse issues.
Jerry works from a client centered, trauma informed, and needs based holistic philosophy. He holds certifications in the trauma treatments of EMDR and TF-CBT. His specializations include: trauma in children and adults, childhood attachment issues, mood and anxiety disorders (Depression, Bi-polar, Anxiety, PTSD), LGBT+ issues, men’s issues, and substance abuse and co-occurring diagnosis. With children, he utilizes art and play therapy to help the child to learn new skills, learn how to effectively express themselves, and develop healthy social interaction.
Brenda Santos, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Mrs.Santos is a fully bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master’s Degree from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico. She has over 16 years of experience providing clinical services in hospices, hospitals, nursing homes and community programs.
